We are very lucky to have 3 fantastic speakers on the evening - as follows:
Speaker 1: Rob Godfrey
Improving Delivery at the Financial Times
Rob is a Senior Technical Architect at the Financial Times. He works within a central technology group who provide a wide range of services to development teams that grease the wheels of software delivery at the FT.
Common practices such as automated builds, automated testing and continuous delivery enable development teams to release changes frequently with low risk.
In this talk Rob will share some less obvious ways the FT have improved their development teams ability to build, deploy and operate their systems.
Speaker 2: Kam Zaman
Kam was previously the Head of Agile Delivery for a national recruitment brand and is an experienced Scrum Master/Delivery Manager who has worked on IT and eCommerce projects that cover the entire project life cycle. He has built a wealth of experience working in many industries and has experience of working both in the public and private sector. Kam has set up and coached teams to use Dual Track Scrum, Scrum and Kanban to help teams deliver valuable products to their customers.
In his talk, Kam will introduce some tools he has used to allow teams and people continuously improve their processes, their products and themselves, explaining what the problems they were trying to solve and the real life outcomes were.
Speaker 3: Chris Matts (Agile Transformation Coach)
Agile - The magic bullet for IT risk management.
Why do we use Agile? Its faster, better quality and more fun. True! But the real reason organisations should use Agile is because its better at managing risk when investing in IT. Chris will take you on a whirlwind tour of the Agile World through the eyes of the IT Risk Manager. You might be surprised how much you already know about risk management, and at the same time shocked at your lack of real knowledge about risk. Come learn about unicorns and options and liquidity.....
We appreciate time frames are a little tight here but please do RSVP on our meetup page ASAP. Numbers are limited and it's a first come basis as always. Please do drop the team a mail on firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any queries whatsoever and we really look forward to seeing many of you on Thursday 17th November at 6:30pm.
